Recent findings indicate that only 13 % of Belgian companies use social networks to promote their activities in spite of the fact that 70% of Belgians are connected to various social networks and that this media is the cheapest, easiest and the most efficient way to publicise your business.
In general Belgians have one profile on two of the various social networks; Facebook and LinkedIn so that’s where you should concentrate your web marketing.
Two thirds of the Belgian population connect to Facebook twice a day and their average age is 31. Fifty-eight per cent of Belgians use Facebook to stay in touch with their professional relations and 54% join groups. You can create a page for your company on Facebook and keep it updated and interesting by filling your wall with news and discussions on subjects relating to your professional activities. LinkedIn is also increasingly well known with 12.8% of Belgians having an account. That makes Belgium the 9th most linked-in country in the world.
