Opening your business

At Local Knowledge we are experts in setting up all types of businesses. Based in Brussels for over 20 years, we can offer start up support to any size company. Our clients range from one man bands to  publicly quoted companies.

This page provides a brief introduction to the most common business structures to help you get started on the road to doing business in Belgium.

The most common structure by a long way is a to set up a limited liabiolty company (SPRL in French, BVBA in Dutch).  However, small operations with little start up cash and low liabilty risks sometimes opt for an unlimited liability partnership (SNC/SCS in French, VOF, Comm V. in Dutch) while many of our foreign clients already running businesses elsewhere opt to set up branch offices here in Belgium.

Whether you are starting your business in the Brussels Region or setting up in Flanders or Wallonia, we can be with you every step of the way providing time saving, stress busting support.
